This week we have been working in our Pod to create a WebQuest. I've never really experienced a WebQuest before so this is all new to me. I have no idea how to create a WebQuest on my own so I'm glad that I'm working with a group. However, I do wish that we had some class time instructions on the procedures to create a WebQuest so that I would feel comfortable to make one of my own as a teacher. I've made PowerPoint presentations on an beginning level before, but haven't had experiences linking the pages together and referencing them to websites.
I really like the concept of WebQuests as an educational tool for teachers and students. I believe that these would be great for students to do at home with their parents so that they can work together on the computer in an educational task. I realize that not every student has a computer in their home, but times are changing and hopefully by the time I'm a teacher, there will be more students with computers in their home than there currently are and that this will increase even more over time.
As parents and students work together to complete the WebQuests, the parent's can feel comfortable that they are going to reliable websites that are engaging and safe for their children. It's a great concept and I look forward to learning more about them.
VIDEO REFLECTION:
Did you Know 3.0 = I remember watching this video for a previous assignment. I found it very interesting to realize that America is not the leading country with industry, technology, education and the other areas that were listed in the video. Video's like these are good reminders of how much further we need to go to increase and be caught up with the rest of the world.
